I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor located in the Kootenays in BC, on the unceeded traditional territories of the Yaqan Nukiy within the Ktunaxa Nations.
I graduated with my Masters in Counselling Psychology from Adler University in 2022. I am passionate about supporting individuals find peace with food and their bodies.
I am committed to an anti-oppressive and intersectionality framework to best support clients of all lived experiences.
Throughout my training and work experience, I have focused on specializing in eating disorders and body image counselling, but I have seen clients with a variety of presenting concerns, such as depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship troubles, life transitions, stressors, coping skills, LGBTQ+ experiences, discrimination and stigma, and more.
I am passionate about the eating disorders field because I see how misunderstood and stigmatized the illness can be. Coming from lived experience, I know how scary it can be to fight against the eating disorder, yet I also know it is worth it to get to the other side. I believe in the strength and resilience of my clients to create a life worth living. Even when things feel impossible, I see the hope for you and your future.
I use an Emotion-Focused Therapy orientation in my work, while also incorporating interventions from Narrative Therapy, DBT, CBT, Existential Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Neurodivergent-Friendly and Trauma-Informed practices. I am trained in a Health-At-Every-Size approach, allying with fat liberation and anti-weight bias practices.
It is important to me to create a counselling space that meets your needs and honors your experiences. I do not believe in a "one-size-fits-all" approach to mental health. Together, we can create a wellness plan that is sustainable while suiting your needs. My goal is to create a supportive therapeutic relationship that foster trust and safety to do the important yet vulnerable work in counselling.
